Circulearth was pleased to contribute its expertise to the new report “Building Circular Teams.”
This report is an initial step towards providing answers. It offers a summary of our learnings and a contribution to the growing conversation on designing teams for the circular economy.

An article written by Lou Tamaehu-Plovier, founder of Circular Talent, echoing the reflections shared in this collective work.

Companies are preparing for the materials crisis by investing in the circular economy. Plans and strategies are multiplying, with roadmaps, targets and commitments emerging across all sectors. Yet when it comes to implementation, many organisations find themselves stuck. They know how to define the what and the why of circularity, but struggle to identify the who.

This report explores in particular:

  • what a circular job is,
  • the key factors for transforming teams,
  • how to move from strategy to structure to build circular teams,
  • a progressive approach to implementing these teams,
  • the crucial role of strategic upskilling,
  • and finally, conclusions and recommendations to support the transition.

Through in-depth discussions with practitioners from various sectors and regions — HR managers, policy officers, project leads, and subject-matter experts — we explored what it really takes to bring circularity to life on a daily basis.
Our goal: to understand how to move from a state of paralysis to one of concrete action.

This report does not offer a definitive answer. It captures a snapshot of our learnings and contributes to the growing conversation on how to design teams for the circular economy.
But above all, it is a call to pay greater attention to the human factor in this transition.

We hope this report will be useful to those seeking to bridge the gap between ambition and action.
Because building circularity ultimately means building the right teams.

The report is available here.
